Smiling at.. IBIZA!

Alright, so the only time I have visited Ibiza has been in my dreams. Yet, I know that when I do visit this heaven, I will be ecstatic and in love.

I found this picture of Talamanca on the net, and I am absolutely in love.

There is something so beautiful, so natural about this scene. To me, that shack is a mansion; it is worth millions. Worth millions of; dollars, sweat and tears.

It is the ultimate love shack, (baby, love shack,) and it bring about that pearly white smile :D

ALWAYS smiling at ZARA..

Australia is famous for gold. The gold rush, the national colours [green and] gold, golden sand and I’m pretty sure we’ve gathered quite a few gold Olympic medals in our day. However, it is most unfortunate that we are without the goldmine that is Zara.

Recently, I was overseas – and I went absolutely crazy in Zara. My mum and I were in the women’s section for hours before we even realised that there are other levels. I bought some beautiful pieces, including a coat with a large collar. However, it is summer here in Australia – so whilst I’ll be getting a golden tan – I will not be spending my summer shopping in Zara, or wearing my lovely coat.

Yet I live in hope that Zara will make her way here soon. As shops like Zara make the world go round.

Some Zara pieces that are worth their weight in gold;

Smiling at.. LA VIE EN ROSE!

From the heartfelt words of Edith Piaf, to the passionate strength of Grace Jones, to the gentle serenading of Humphrey Bogart by Audrey Hepburn – this song has been smiled at through and through.

Why are my pearly whites currently sparkling at this song?

Possibly because it is elusively foreign and chic. Elegant, yet passionate - flirty, yet holding that element of reserve.

My idea of the 3 F’s; Fashion, France and Facebook – are definitely seen through rose coloured glasses.

La vie en rose <3

Smiling at.. LEGENDARY FASHIONISTAS!

Recently I began looking closely at Elsa Schiaparelli. Not only did she design some groundbreaking pieces, but she teamed up with Salvador Dali - the world's quirkiest, yet awesome, artist!

I am in love with her 12 commandments for women. Very profound.

1. Since most women do not know themselves they should try to do so.

2. A woman who buys an expensive dress and changes it, often with disastrous result, is extravagant and foolish.

3. Most women (and men) are color-blind. They should ask for suggestions.

4. Remember-twenty percent of women have inferiority complexes. Seventy percent have illusions.

5. Ninety percent are afraid of being conspicuous, and of what people will say. So they buy a gray suit. They should dare to be different.

6. Women should listen and ask for competent criticism and advice.

7. They should choose their clothes alone or in the company of a man.

8. They should never shop with another woman, who sometimes consciously or unconsciously, is apt to be jealous.

9. She should buy little and only of the best or cheapest.

10. Never fit a dress to the body, but train the body to fit the dress.

11. A woman should buy mostly in one place where she is known and respected, and not rush around trying every new fad.

12. And she should pay her bills.

The aforementioned information and picture, are courtesy of the PHILADELPHIA MUESEUM OF ART. If only I lived overseas to visit the mueseum - then I would definitely smiling!

Smiling at.. PROFOUND ADVICE!

Alright, so it has been a while, and you’re probably thinking that the above heading means that I’ve neglected my fashion passion, this is definitely not the case.

Profound advice is fashion. Upon hearing (and acting upon) the said advice, one exerts a certain degree of confidence, they hold themselves elegantly, and they inevitably smile – which is the biggest fashion statement.

So listen to advice, and smile :)

ALWAYS Smiling at.. SMILING and REMEMBERING THE TIME OF MICHAEL JACKSON!

As aforementioned, I love Michael Jackson, and was devastated when hearing news of his death.

Today was his memorial, and at discovery of Michael Jackson’s favourite song being “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin, I knew I had to rush and compose a blog entry.

So, here are the lyrics to Michael Jackson’s favourite song, with an underlying message which this blog targets.

Smile
tho'
your heart is aching,
Smile
Even though it's breaking,
When there are clouds in the sky- You'll get by,
If you
Smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through- For you.
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev'ry trace of sadness,
Altho' a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile- What's the use of crying,
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.

Rest in Peace, Michael Jackson - King of Pop.

Smiling at.. GUCCI RESORT 2010 MOSAIC DRESS!

It's Summer, and you are heading down to a beachside cafe for lunch with the girls. You don't intend on swimming, yet you want to look effortlessly, and ridiculously, hot. You slip on a dress with a nice pair of flats, and possibly a wide brim hat. A little mascara and lipgloss is all the makeup that is required, and.. you SMILE.

Smile at the people that pass by, smile at the cute waiters, you even smile at the slice of lemon floating in your water!

In this dress, I wouldn’t stop smiling.

Lusting over this Gucci Mosaic dress.
